January 15-17th 2014, K2PRODUCTIONS produced and shot a spot for TASER international. TASER as many of you may know is an electroshock non-lethal weapon used by police to subdue fleeing, belligerent, or potentially dangerous people. This electrical current ceases the voluntary control of muscles and produces contractions or “neuromuscular incapacitation”. Along side the filming of the stun gun itself was TASER’s new Axon Flex headset and Axon Body Camera. Both systems, with the help of a subscription to “Evidence.com”, will help law enforcement officers improve their transparency between law enforcement agencies and their communities, while protecting officers from false claims.
When tackling the requested concepts for the production, Director Kevin Eller pulled inspiration from David Ayer’s 2012 police thriller, “END OF WATCH”. The films high speed police pursuits from point of view perspective’s and detailed approaches to a true day in the life of an officer seemed to fit the bill perfectly.
In the end, K2’s approach was less of a product driven push of TASER but more of a devotion to characters and their charismatic performances to overcome, serve and protect.
Below is a fun behind the scenes from the day. Enjoy, and make sure you visit our flickr to see some exciting production photography as well.
